The last of the female flowers today shining sweetly on the egg-yolk yellow stems. Bees come round for the nectar. My study is in the spiralling which goes around in 3′s both clockwise and anticlockwise on the same tree. You can see it 1 – 2 – 3 and then 4 is back in the same place on the stage below.

Natalia Lapteva on Facebook reminds me that Star of Bethlehem is flowering (thanks!) but not open today as it has rained and rained and rained. It only opens in the sunshine.
Went to the garden to get food for dinner and noticed that the Mustard was in flower. Depression for no apparent reason? Reminded me of the Carole King song ‘You’ve got a friend’ from 1971. ‘When you’re down and troubled and you need a helping hand and nothing, oh nothing is going right, close your eyes and think of me … and I’ll be there.’ Don’t know why. But it seemed just right.
